Alec Şandor

- S-a născut pe 11 iunie 1982 la Iaşi şi a copilărit în Roman
- Studiază chitară de la 18 ani, primii paşi făcându-i alături de profesorul Silviu Dumitriu
- Dupa apariții sporadice pe plan local, atât ca instrumentist în diferite proiecte, dar şi in coruri bisericeşti, se mută la Bucureşti pentru a fi în inima muzicii româneşti şi pentru a-şi continua studiile. Este absolvent al Facultăţii de Inginerie în Limba Franceză
- Deține un atestat de psiho-pedagogie
- Este membru (chitarist și compozitor) al trupei Alexandra & Alec
- Printre preferinţele sale muzicale se numără creaţiile lui Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Yngwie Malmsteem, Eddie Van Halen, dar şi albumele legendare ale unor trupe precum Pink Floyd sau Dream Theater
- Cântă cu aceeaşi plăcere atât pe chitară electrică, cât şi pe acustică: “Ador simplitatea provocatoare a chitării acustice, dar şi posibilităţile infinite de exprimare oferite de chitara electrică. - În noiembrie 2008, a urcat pe scena Hard Rock Cafe din Bucureşti alături de Trond Holter, cotat între primii 20 de chitarişti din lume de către revista Guitar Magazine
- În aprilie 2009 a creat conceptul show-ului “Marius Nedelcu / Alexandra & Alec Unplugged“, care a fost transmis în direct pe Apropo.ro și urmărit de peste 1.000 de spectatori
- În 2009 a participat la master classes cu Guthrie Govan, Jose de Castro, Mathias Ia Eklundh şi Richard Halleebeck
- În decembrie 2009 a lansat împreună cu Alexandra Ivan CD-ul promoţional “Little Dreams”
- Momentan pregăteşte împreună cu Florian Chelu Madeva (Rock Filarmonica Oradea) şi Alexandra Ivan un album de sonete muzicale pe versurile poetesei renascentiste Veronica Franco
- De la începutul anului 2009 predă lecții de chitară pentru începători şi avansaţi în Bucureşti, în română, engleză şi franceză.
- În ianuarie 2010 l-a invitat pe prietenul lui din adolescenţă, Marius Furduescu, să ia parte la proiectul www.lectii-de-chitara.ro şi să împartă tainele acestui instrument minunat cu toţi cei interesaţi

- Alec Şandor was born on June 11th 1982 in Iasi and spent his childhood years in Roman
- He began studying guitar at the age of 18, guided by his teacher Silviu Dumitriu
- After a few small local appearances, as a musician in various projects and in a church choir, he moved to Bucharest wishing to be in the heart of the music business. He continued his studies and obtained a degree in Engineering at the Polytechnical University of Bucharest, the French section
- He also has a degree in psychopedagogy
- He is a member (guitarist and composer) of the indie pop-rock band Alexandra & Alec
- Alec enjoys listening to Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Yngwie Malmsteem, Eddie Van Halen, Pink Floyd and Dream Theater
- He plays on acoustic and electric guitar with the same enthusiasm: “I adore the challenging simplicity of the acoustic sound but also the infinite possibilities that the electric guitar gives me (…) To me, songwriting is living through music”, Alec explains.

- In November 2008 he performed with Trond Holter (considered one of the best 20 guitarists in the world by Guitar Magazine) at Hard Rock Cafe, Bucharest
- In April 2009 ne created the concept of an unplugged show for Marius Nedelcu and Alexandra & Alec, which was broadcast live on Apropo.ro and watched by over 1.000 users
- In 2009 he attended master classes with Guthrie Govan, Jose de Castro, Mathias Ia Eklundh and Richard Halleebeck
- In December 2009 he released the “Little Dreams” promotional CD with Alexandra Ivan
- He is currently working on Florian Chelu Madeva (Rock Filarmonica Oradea) and Alexandra Ivan on a musical sonnets album to the lyrics of Veronica Franco, a Renaissance poet
- Since early 2009 he has been teaching guitar for beginners and advanced students in Bucharest, in Romanian, English and French
- In January 2010 he invited his longtime friend and jam sessions partner Marius Furduescu to take part in the www.lectii-de-chitara.ro and share the secrets of this wonderful instrument with everyone interested
